Analog - Digital - Hybrid - Real

At Mission Control, we embrace best of breed technologies - be they old or new. We have a variety of the best analog tape machines ever made including the Studer A820 2" 24-Track that top artists such as the Foo Fighters, T-Bone Burnett and Elton John still rely on to this day.

In the digital realm, we record at sample rates up to 192kHz, 32-bit. We have 60 channels of analog in/out plus countless channels of digital I/O such as ADAT and SPDIF. We have thousands of the best plugins for processing, FX, and virtual instruments from Native Instruments, Spitfire Audio, XLN Audio, IK Multimedia and much, much more.

In the middle, tying it altogether, we have one of THE best Neve VR60-Legend consoles still in existence. This impressive console started its' life in New York, continued in Nashville, then to the infamous Muscle Shoals, and now here in beautiful Pawleys Island, SC. The console was recently refurbished by experts including a former Neve tech and one of the previous owners. We have married this console with a QCON automated mixing system to create an amazing hybrid console.

Studio gear at your disposal We have the best quality microphones including Nuemann, Audio Technica, Rode, Royer, Shure, AKG and more. In-studio instruments include a bass, electric and acoustic guitars, an upgright piano, a full-size 88-key weighted keyboard (with thousands of the best samples in the DAW), a MASCHINE mk2, a DNAfx GiT Pro guitar amp/fx simulator, acoustic and digital drums, miscellaneous percussion, and much, much more.
Great recordings require space All of this technology is great, but it is made even better by the space it lives in. Our 2,000 square foot facility features wide open space with high ceilings. The 800 square foot control room provides a comfortable working environment that allows you to make yourself at home - the best way to create your art. After hours, the facility expands by another several thousand square feet with even higher ceilings.
About the owners Mission Control Studios was founded in 1995 by Karl Bingle and is owned by Karl and Joanne Bingle. The studio was moved to Pawleys Island in 2018. Karl is a voting member of NARAS (the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences - aka "The Grammys"), a voting member of the Audio Engineering Society (AES) and a lifetime member of the Society of International Recording Engineers (SIRE). Karl has over 40 years of experience in professional studios, studied at Berklee College of Music, and is the principle engineer and producer for the studio.
